“What's in a name? That which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet.” ― William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet.
Let us start with our name, Why Euphrates: Arx Axiom Academy?
The name can seem a bit strange on first glance but here’s what you need to know: Each part of our name was chosen with great intention. Euphrates means to “gush forth”, make fruitful, and historically represents a source of life. We view everything we do as having a “gush” forward or ripple effect. Whether it is classes for our parents to learn Spanish or taking the time to know what uniquely motivates each one of our students, we believe the effort we put in continues to move us as a community forward.
Arx Axiom literally means the “fortress of first principles” in Latin. It is believed that “first principles” with regard to school means an education encompassing truth, virtue, history, legacy and habits .
When we discovered the ideology of first principles, we knew that this standard of education was exactly what we were looking for.
Truth: discovering what God says on matters
Virtue: creating a culture of trustworthy, friendly, reverent, loyal, cheerful, kind, and courageous students and staff
History: knowing what has been in order to set focus, purpose, and priorities for the future
Legacy: re-calibrating the mindset regarding culture and society for the benefit of the next generation
Habits: practicing the skills of life-giving community
The Beginning
Euphrates: Arx Axiom Academy started (as our Founder, Rayna likes to call it) “as a bit of a fever dream.” Late one night she was getting ready for bed when she thought to herself, “I need to start a school!”
Rayna and her husband had recently adopted their son when she began to contemplate where she wanted her child to receive an education. She wanted something different and a little unconventional — and far better than what she received. Inspired by a recent foster care conference she attended, she first wanted to find a school that valued brain health and the need to be trauma informed. Having done some research on the benefits of being bilingual, she decided the school needed to be dual immersion. Additionally, Rayna, having loved the Lord since she was a young girl, wanted to find an academic situation that glorified God and taught His wisdom in relationship to each subject. This is when she discovered classical education methodologies.
The only problem was this specific school of which she had dreamt, didn’t exist. There were no dual immersion schools in the Temecula area.
So, what is one to do when what they want doesn’t exist?
Roll up your sleeves and get after it!

Our mission is to elevate education and instill Godly wisdom by using classical education methods, Spanish Immersive environments, and unique community experiences.
In Short…
Euphrates Private Schools exist to meet the educational needs of the Temecula Valley. Euphrates is the only Spanish immersion program in the area that also focuses on investing in its surrounding community.
We believe that educational institutions are meant to not simply educate the mind but to protect the student physically, to inspire the student mentally, and to help them grow spiritually.
